The honing or grinding 2 to 3 mm off the concrete surface provides a smooth exposed aggregate look. The level of finish can be from a dull satin finish to a highly polished mirror finish. A hardening lithium based compound can be ground into the surface at time of honing to increase surface quality and toughness.
